The Toshiba Satellite M645 is a multimedia notebook that provides a wide range of uses. Good for students in school, for the family around the house, or even for light gaming; this laptop is currently on sale for $630 from Sears and for $659 from Buydig. That price is $120 and $90 off the list price on each site, respectively. Overall, the notebook provides great performance, a fetching design, and a virtually noiseless keyboard.
This 14-inch Toshiba Satellite M645 configuration is powered by an Intel Core i3-380M CPU at 2.53 GHz (3MB cache); this processor only differs slightly from our review models'. We said the system CPU offers "solid performance" and it ranked higer than the Lenovo IdeaPad Y460 and Dell Inspiron 14 in our benchmark tests. The included 4GB of RAM, DDR3 at 1066MHz (upgradeable to 8GB) will also help the system in terms of overall performance.
The LED backlit display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 1366x768 screen resolution (720p) ranked in at "very good" due to the sharp contrast and bright backlighting. Check out our review for product photographs and other comments about the 14-inch display.

The Chiclet-style keyboard is comfortable to type with and is backlit, a quite attractive feature for use in a dark room. The keyboard showed little flex; attributing to the system's solid build quality. The 6-cell battery on our M645 provided four hours and 9 minutes of unplugged life.
